Jeff is the Kancho (Head of the dojo) and Chief Instructor at the Midlands Koryukan and he is the designated Child Welfare Officer for the club. He has been training in martial arts since 1987. Jeff has cross-trained in many different fighting systems, including Shukokai Karate, Hung Gar Kung Fu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing, Jujutsu and Shotokan, before dedicating himself to Koryu Uchinadi, as a student of Hanshi Patrick McCarthy 9th Dan. Jeff has been accredited with his Shidoin teaching licence in Koryu Uchinadi from Hanshi McCarthy, one of only a small handful of people in the UK to have done so, and is a registered instructor with the British Combat Association. He is also a member in good standing with the International Ryukyu Karate-jutsu Research Society. Jeff has a BSc (hons) degree in Sports Science, including anatomy and physiology, biomechanics and sports coaching methods, which Jeff utilises fully when teaching KU and he is available to teach both personal lessons and seminars.

Martin Golsby Sensei
Martin Golsby is an instructor at the Midlands Koryukan and has been practicing karate for many years, achieving the rank of 4th Dan and being awarded the title of Renshi in 2010 from Peter Evans Shihan. Martin has been studying Koryu Uchinadi with Jeff Capstick Shidoin since 2011 and is continuing to develop his skills as he works towards his full accreditation in Koryu Uchinadi from Patrick McCarthy Hanshi 9th Dan. Martin is a registered instructor with the British Combat Association and a member in good standing with the International Ryukyu Karate-jutsu Research Society. Martin is an alternative contact for any Child Welfare issues within the Midlands Koryukan.
