Hanshi Patrick McCarthy is one of the world's leading martial arts historians who has led the resurgance of martial arts to their pragmatic beginnings based upon his theory of habitual acts of physical violence (HAPV theory). This is the home dojo of Joost Frehe Shidoin, the Shibucho of Koryu Uchinadi in the United Kingdom. Sensei Joost teaches regular open courses and seminars and really is one of Europe's leading lights in KU. Attendance at one of his teaching events is highly recommended.

Sensei Joe Glavin is the chief instructor at Koryu Uchinadi Karate Cork and holds a Yondan in Shotokan, Sandan in Koryu Uchinadi and is also accredited with a Shidoin level Koryu Uchinadi Instructors licence from Hanshi Patrick McCarthy. This website is a an excellent resource for those studying Koryu Uchinadi.
